FOR OVER 38 YEARS WOMEN OF COLOR HAVE BEEN

 POSITIVELY IMPACTED

 BY WWOCN PROJECTS

Who We Are

Our organization evolved out of the regional Minority Women's Employment Conference held in  Chicago in 1980.  The first Wisconsin Minority Women's Employment Conference was sponsored by the State Department of Employment Relations with the assistance of the Region V Women's Bureau of the U.S. Department of Labor.  Beginning in 1986 the organization broadened its program beyond the annual conference, defined its membership more formally, and established a dues structure.

The WISCONSIN MINORITY WOMEN'S NETWORK was incorporated as a not for profit organization on October 5, 1983.  On March 25, 2000, the name of the organization was changed to WISCONSIN WOMEN OF COLOR NETWORK, INC  (WWOCN).

WWOCN is a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code and donations to WWOCN are tax deductible as allowed by law.
